If you’ve not yet heard the name Juliette Ashby, you soon will. A singer-songwriter from London, Juliette has a beautifully soulful voice, which is put to great use with an irresistible mix of R&B, Reggae and Neo-Soul.
She has triumphed at some of the world’s most renowned festivals, including the Isle of Wight Festival and SXSW, and given outstanding performances at Perez Hilton’s ‘One Night In Austin Party’ and the ADD52 event hosted by Def Jam’s Russell Simmons.
Having received support from BBC 1Xtra and MTV, Juliette secured a licensing deal with VH1, and broke the top ten of the prestigious ‘Next Big Sound’ chart with Billboard.
Despite this heady success, Juliette can still be found performing at London’s Jazz Café where she hosts her very own music night. ‘JJ’s Soulshack’.
New album ‘Over and Over’ is due for release next month and will feature the likes of US sensation DA BRAT. With her unique and compelling sound, it can only lead for more success for this amazing artist.
As if this wasn’t enough, ‘Over and Over’ will accompanied by an added acoustic album entitled ‘Bittersweet’; a touching collection of songs dealing with grief and addiction.
We definitely think Juliette Ashby is a name to look out for.
Juliet is married with one daughter, a dog and a cat. She grew up in East London, but currently resides in Hertfordshire.
Having spent her formative years in the Mod scene, she has a lot of love for the 60’s...and the music of the Mod Father, Mr Paul Weller.
Juliet has always loved to write and began training to be a journalist, before ill health caused her to put her life on hold.
Two kidney transplants later, she still enjoys all kinds of writing, including poetry, and has had several poems published in various magazines and anthologies. She likes needlecraft, is big on animal rights and loves discovering brilliant new artists that the main stream media may have overlooked.
Last, but by no means least, she has a lot of love for two very talented Irish twins, you may know them as Jedward :)
