Introducing: Brighter Later

Australian band, Brighter Later, who sprung fully formed into the consciousness of that country’s music scene, is the brainchild of front-woman Jaye Kranz. Together with her collaborators, Kranz has released the new single, “Brace”, the follow up to “The Wolves”, which featured on both PBS and Triple R as “Album of the Week”. Described by Chris Johnston of The Age as

“an unimaginably gorgeous song full of tiny moments”,

Brace was produced and recorded by Kranz in her home-studio, a converted Chruch in Melbourne’s west. Despite being a novice record producer, Kranz nonetheless jumped into the deep end with both feet, later saying,

“One of the advantages was not even having a rule book to throw out,”

The Band Brighter Later includes bass player Virginia Bott, who is also a long time collaborator with Kranz; programmer Patrick Dunn; and drummer Sean Albers. The track also features Simon Bailey (Pony Face), Shane O’Mara, Sean Albers, and Dan Marsh (Human Face) – with special guest string arrangements by electronic producer Ned Beckley (Lower Spectrum). The song was mixed and mastered by Andy Stewart at The Mill in Gippsland, Australia.

“Brace” is out now independently and through Gaga Digi and will be featured on the forthcoming second album due for release in 2015. For more information about Brighter Later, visit their website.
