Reports are mixed about the death of Simone Battle, member of G.R.L. Battle was found in her Los Angeles home earlier today. Her cause of death is under investigation.

Simone, 25, was mentored by Simon Cowell in series 1 of the now defunct X Factor USA in 2011, and joined what was initially a replacement lineup for the Pussycat Dolls, in 2012. It was announced in 2013 that the group would rename itself G.R.L. Their eponymous debut EP was released in July this year.

Simone had been an actress before becoming a recording artist, and appeared in Everybody Hates Chris, and Zoey 101, both in 2006.

G.R.L’s debut single, “Ugly Heart”, was released on 3 June. It peaked at Number 2 in Australia, Number 3 in Ireland, and Number 4 in New Zealand.
